just replaced starter =)
hey wassup guys.... i jus wanted to thank Ken for the starter sticky in the problems and fixes section of the forum. A few days ago the starter was showing the same symptoms. Click followed by nothing... after reading about it in the starter sticky.. it definately had to be the starter. i paid $130 for starter and $80 to have it installed. Took it to a family friend who is a retired mechanic who did everything in less then 3 hours. Before that, i went to the STEALERSHIP... lol.. the service manager quoted me 650 for parts and labor and i'd have to leave the car their for 5 days with no loaner... dealerships are good only for warranty purpose.. other then that..they

yea its a rebuilt starter... the way it works is... when you buy the starter which i got for 130... they charge you a core charge which in my case was 50. the core is basically your bad starter that they are going to rebuild and sell. so the total was 180.. when the mechanic took out the old starter and put the new one in.. i returned the old one to the parts store and they returned the core charge.. which was 50 bux. soo at the end.. starter is 130.
