Intro - Questions - Praise

Hello TL fans. My name is Jeph, and I am now a proud TL owner. This is my '96 2.5 and I've enjoyed my brief ownership of it thus far. It is my daily driver and I plan on taking it well over the 200,000 mile marker (It's currently at 131k).

No major mods planned. I've got Inspire tail lights on the way from Japan at present (I'm still debating the front clear turn signals), tinted windows needed (Texas boy here), and maybe a remote start.

Being new to the TL community, I have a couple of questions.
  1. What color is my car? The color code sticker is missing from the door jam and I need to order some touch-up paint.
  2. Was keyless entry an option or standard? I have no remotes but wondered if they existed, or were just missing.

I like this forum, it has answered many of my queries already (yeah, I'm one of those people that actually searches first before asking -like the D4 light, locking shifter, scratched window, headlight adjustment, and plenty more). Thanks in advance guys. This is an extremely helpful forum!

first off, welcome! glad you figured out how to use the search button anyways, to answer your questions...

1) the color of your car is the same as mine; granite silver pearl
2) kam, does that work with the 2.5? the acura dealer told me the 2.5 wasn't equipped with the keyless entry device in the locks?

enjoy your stay!

I can't answer any of your questions. But looks like other people have covered them.

Anyway, that is a very clean car. Congrats on your purchase.

not necessarily because if the sticker is missing than more than likely the car had a a re-paint. did you do a vcar fax? your car may have been in an accident and they repainted the car or it was totalled and they fixed it and painted it because i have never seen a car that was not painted that had the sticker on the door jamb removed

I can see where the sticker was, it was peeled or worn off at sometime in its life.

Even if there was a repaint, I'm not gonna sweat it. All I want is to purchase some touch-up paint, so I need to know what color or code I had. That should be sufficient enough.

Exterior Granite Silver Pearl

Anyone use www.automotivetouchup.com?

Random update on my car...

This is an old post, but here are some updated pix of my car. I love the difference de-ambering makes! Hope everyone on this forum is doing well.

Side note, I snagged my tail lights for about $75 on eBay with shipping! Is that a killer deal or what?

Previously I inquired about www.automotivetouchup.com for touch-up paint, and if any one has used them. I just ordered from them and I'll let you know how it goes.

Up next: Tinted Windows...

wow very nice, I like the inspire tails on your car. Though even the amber corner lights in the front looked really good on your car, that's a really good color. Makes me wish my 2.5tl wasn't black, it makes the car look smaller than it is. Keep us updated on the touchup spray, I'm a little interested myself.

I can't handle a black car due to how hot they get (I'm in TX) and how hard it is to keep them clean. However, I think clear lights add an awesome contrast to black vehicles... I also think the smoked clear corners would look fantastic on a black TL.

I look forward to receiving my touch-up paint. I actually ordered the marker pen they have available. Hopefully that will make the application process a bit easier.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

do they actually make smoked corner lenses? that would probably look really good with the black housing headlights, but it might offset the look of the inspire tails. AAAAAAAAAAH i'm confusing myself!
