intermittent wipers don't work

wipers work fine on fast but slow and intermittent don't work at all. from what i hear it's an electrical problem or a bad connection with a wire. if the wipers didn't work at all i would get a new wiper motor but since they turn on in the fast speed that doesn't make sense.
has anyone faced this problem?

i had a problem with my wiper dying..completely, but maybe urs is juz dying slowly. it is alot of $ for a new motor so i would say have it checked A.S.A.P. hopefully its juz an electrical probem or a blown fuse.. but itdoesnt make sense Y the others wont work but tha fast does. umm my guess would be check the fuses if they're str8 rush to a electric shop b4 tha problem gets worse..mine died like slow would go extra slow then stutter then take a few min to come on then dont come on period..so ...good luck

Sounds electric or the switch itself.

Yeah, I am guessing it is the switch itself, or a wiring problem between the switch and the wipers.

I think the motor is alright, I can't see why it would have a problem with intermittent, but not with the fastest setting.

Also, I am pretty sure it is not a fuse because I can't see different wiper speeds on different fuses, that just sounds like too much extra wiring and work.

thanks for all the good advice. the fuse is good so i guess it's electrical or the switch. im hoping it's not the motor. sorry to hear about your bad luck leatha, i'll let u know if the same happens to me with the motor.

I think he's talking about the time delay setting. '97 and newer models have that feature.

ehh im by what you mean by the adjustable intermittent wipers and the 97+

is that the ring on the wiper stick that you rotate to either make the wiper go from VERY VERY slow to semi quick?

That's about it. It's a little ring at the inside rim of the wiper stalk. You can set the time between swipes, which can be set in between 2 seconds and 20 seconds.

*bump*

Was this problem ever resolved? Wiring diagram shows two connectors under dash that control the INtermittant and the "park" feature of the wiper motion. So my question is, was it the switch or the wiring?
