It's really simple. You have to open the hood, use a screwdriver to unscrew the screws holding the grille on, use a flathead screwdriver to unhook the plastic parts holding it in place, unscrew all screws on top holding the bumper cover on, take a wrench and take off the bolts under the bumper holding it on, then use a wrench to take off the resonator. Once you have the bumper off, you just gotta take the resonators out piece by piece. It's fairly simple.
Supposedly, you can get more airflow by taking the intake resonator off. But keep in mind, this means that it will be louder as well. C'mon guys, let's keep our cars the way they were supposed to be...luxury vehicles.
Heh. to some extent BASISON, I agree. I love how these cars look when they are just clean...but I wouldnt mind getting a little more growl out of the car
But I dont want a crappy muffler (crotch rocket sounding)...I'd like a good performance muffler (cat back?), but I dont want it too loud. I'd like a lower, only gets loud when I'm rapping it out type muffler. Anyone have any good ideas?

removing your intake resonator doesnt give a crappy sound at all...just a slight growl then you get on it. Very nice if you ask me or anyone else who has done it. I deffinately didnt want to make my car sound like a civic, the sound is a very nice improvement.

Boarder, I added an RS*R muffler to my car. With the aftermarket intake even the car is still very quiet, but with a little larger growl at WOT. Sounds really good, and no where near obtrusive. I had an integra with a full open exhaust before, believe me I don't want that again either. And Basison, I agree that these are luxury cars, but there's nothing wrong with getting a little performance out of ANY car. Acura wouldn't have given them such a fairly taught suspension if they didn't want the car to have any sporting feel.
Took out the resonator. It sounds sweet now in my 3.2, at idle or below say 1500 rpms, no difference. At steady cruising speed, no difference. But stab the gas pedal and you get some sweet growling. Good mechanical sounds that SHOULD be heard when you want power. Peace and quiet when you want it.

pics?
the resonator is a black box that is inside your bumper which is directly underneath where your filter sits inside your engine bay... to access it, you can either take off the whole bumper, or remove the passenger side wheel (for 3.2TL) and peel back the splash guard...
it will be the big black box staring you in the face that you need to remove... if you have a CAI, you will have to remove this box anyway as this is where your filter will sit...
sorry i don't have any pics before i removed the resonator...

So the intake resonator is located under where the factory intake is? I'm trying to figure this out as to what I am looking for when I do this. I have the instructions on how to do this above as it was described on how to do it on a 2.5 but I'm just trying to figure everything out first before I do this.
I just took my resonator out and when I started the car and gave it gas I could hear a difference. I took some pics for people that might want to do this. The pics are of the pieces that you have to remove.
I took my whole bumper off because I thought it would be easier for me that way and it was. After I took the bumper off, since I have a 2.5, the resonator was on the driver's side. You need a 10mm and 14mm sockets, an extension 10" or more. There are like 4 screws that have to be removed.
Sorry for the camera phone pics. I misplaced my camera in the abyss that I call my house.

You can see in the last pic where the resonator use to be.

yep, now shove an aluminum 3 in dryer hose on the end of the airbox then route it down to the side of the lower grill and you have yourself a cold air box. I did this a few years back and also gutted the airbox.

no picture sorry just go to home depot and get the stuff in the plumbing section, its all there. i beleive the diameter is 3''
and the custom intake is a steel cold air box custom fabricated to fit my 2.5

I'm about to do this mod next... but one concern is that my car is missing the cover over the tire on the left side (I have a 2.5, resonator is on driver side)... is this horribly dangerous consiering all the debris that may be hitting the filter? Should i look for a durable filter? I was planning on just slapping the filter on without extending it down like a CAI... but considering the lack of protection in that area is it entirely advised to extend it down? I'm thinking the more added parts I put on the car the less robust, the more chances of something loosening or braking...

Titans FTW! Even though they are not doing too well this year.
To edit my post above,
Instead of a 10" extension, get a bigger extension. A 12-15" extension would be perfect for removing the 14mm bolt.

I did this mod back in spring along with a thorough sea foaming. It sounded great right afterward, but now I'm immune, the low growl is still too tame for me. Custom mandrel-bent catback time
Titans are the generation before the gods of Greek mythology. The Greek gods then banished them for being too cruel... basically a titan is more than a god. I don't remember exactly but I believe it goes: chaos > forces of nature > titans > gods > humans?
I believe that whole "big" things about them comes from the legend the gods were born from them... and they were physically bigger than the anthropocentric-gods.
I just took mine off... hear no difference.. but that could be because I have an aftermarket muffler (looks stock but chrome and slightly larger diametres)... =T *VROOM*
