Intake on the 3.2

for those of you all with intakes on your 3.2's, when you put it on, do you get a higher-pitched whirring sound @ idle? I dont think it's supposed to do that. Also, re: the 3 hoses coming off, does anyone know specifically what each one is for? Thanks!!!

I kinda remember this discussion re: intakes on the 3.2 in a thread probably over a year ago.... and someone was talking about taking out the white thing behind the bumper that goes into the filter area. Someone help.

well, i bought one used with tubing that fits, but with only 1 nipple. So now I dont know which one to connect. Anyone with experience with other cars? Is there supposed to be a constant high-pitch at idle.... it sounds like just air rushing in... but didnt think it would do that at stand-still....

who knows, it worked on a 3.2 before apparently. Anyway, do you know what each of the hoses are for? i would assume one is for the O2 sensor....

None of those are for the O2 sensor. The O2 is electrical/electronic and is part of the emissions, not the intake/fuel system.

well what u can do it connect the one nipple u have to the front of the engine.. i can't go out and take a pic righ tnow cause i am on my laptop and my desktop is dead.,.. but what u can do for the engine valve cover is leave that box that connect to it and just put a bloww off value on the end.. that way it can suck air in manually... dunno if that would work to well just giving idas... someone plz check this over... or u can just make another nipplke of ur own....

It's not worth it to try to make a new nipple, unless you know how to work with aluminum. Even then it might not be worth it.

You should start out by getting the correct one for the G1 TL.

the intake is supposed to fit our first gens... it is the same one from procarparts from what i understand....

from what i know, the guy i got it from, he had one breather filter coming out from the side of his engine.. hence he did not need the second nipple

hope that helps

i'm glad it fits...
haven't been here cuz i've been really busy with work and stuff.. been trying to work on my 240sx...

base of the throttle body? from what i know the hose goes into a hole towards the bottom of the engine and the breather filter goes somewhere near the top of the engine, (on the left hand side)

hope that helps...
