no its not the knob at all. you know how our stock deck sits back in the dash? well with an indash u cant do that cause when you press open and it comes out and folds up, it wont have enough room to clear the lip where the heat / a/c unit is...

see how my decks are set out alittle. it actually looks alot worse than in this pic. im looking for something that will "hide" the sides of the unit since they have to sit out alittle. make sense?

Hate to say it, but thats just how our cars are built. I've looked into this in the past for our cars because I was going to do the same thing.. there wasnt anything out there.

Eclipse AVN5435? I checked it out on Crutchfield.. its hot. But is it a direct and flush fit? Crutchfield.com says "IT FITS" for the 98 3.2, but does it sit right, and look good. Will it be flush? Keep us posted on it...

new idea now. ima get the ECLIPSE AVN30D which is the AVN5435 just without rca out puts. its a huge difference in price. about 400 so ill get thyis and then just run a line adaptor for the RCA's! will this work right? opinions?

yep its def coming now. Im the owner of a ECLIPSE AVN30D which is the same model as the ECLIPSE AVN5435. The only difference is that the avn30d has no RCA output (which only means the amp will have to have high end supply or just get a converter that will convert the high end to a low end RCA. The model i got also has steering wheel controls! O MY! no clue y, nut that gets me going! so, soon enough ill have my brand new navi in! im not attempting to install myself (because of the gps mount and the tapping into the speed control so it knows how fast your going) but im open to opinions on how hard it might be. eclipse also gives you three year warranty if you have a pro install and sign off. so, id say by this time next week, youll see pics of this! I CANT WAIT! o yeah... it was $900 even including 3 day air. sure beats the mfsr of $2,200!!!!
