Talking I <3 my TL...

Just got home after a 260 mile round trip and I am in love with my car..... Again.. Love the ride, handling, looks, about everything and love the dome light speakers even more... I was doing 70+ (80 max) most of the time because traffic wan't an issue. Heavy foot most of the time but used cruise control when ever I could and also tried to hold the speed at 65-70 for about 30 miles. Averaged 24.32 MPG's . So todays lesson, these cars can get great MPG if driven carefully between 65-70, and not like I do most of the time. Oh, and my bald tires are even better now, grip better than new. I need new tires..

My camera crapped out on me...again So iPhone pics...

I love mine, too. Temptation to get a 3rd Gen is growing though. But will hand me down the 1st Gen to a relative. So I still see it and work on it everu single.

It remains a temptation.

No Mandy. You have one of the cleanest near stock, low mile TL I have seen so far. Don't do it. You know 3G's are rattle buckets...

I always thought the 1G TL was a very classy looking car.

A classy looking car with a moddest drop and subtle mods make it look its best.

It will take a freaky situation for me to dump the 1st Gen. Like a 3rd Gen low mileage (50K) for $6,000 type. Yeah right! Impossible!

When they look at my 3rd Gen wheels, they can not believe where I got them. I say, they are your 3rd Gen wheels. And they ask me, what year is your car? 1998. They say sheeeeet!

My wife knows I love the TL more than her J/K. The 1Gen. TL has its problems but so far nothing that can't be fixed.

I love my 1st gen also! The best mpg I've ever seen was 28 on I5. This is with a straight pipe of course.

I am sitting on new tires. Much better ride than my Yoko YK520 which were so stiff.

I have Nexen N5000 which are not the greatest tires but got them at a very reasonable cost. I am chillin...love the ride now.

I must confess, have been looking through CL on 2004 and 2005's....STOP IT...I must resist! I only have 94K on the TL!

Kamlung will give me that evil nudge...

I'm also looking for a new car but I know that I can still drive the TL for a few years without major problems. The other day I found a 2003 Infiniti M45 with less than 30k miles! It is/was owned by a 96 year old man. If my car would be dying I'd definitely pick the M45 up.

Nissan/Infiniti is moving in the right direction right now.

Honda/Acura I'm not too sure.

It's actually quiet. The stock muffler handles it well.

Infiniti gaining up on Acura for sure and probably on Lexus. Infiniti remains to be a lesser money option for more car.

Hmmm I always thought that Acura was the worst of the 3 premium Japanese brands. Maybe before 2003 Acura was 2nd but with the introduction of the G35 and FX models Infinity shot way up there. Acura was on a slow and painful decline for me since the introduction of the redesigned lineup.

Also, most Infiniti and Lexus vehicles are built in Japan whereas most Acuras are built either in the US or Canada. I believe that Japanese-built vehicles are much better put together, and more reliable than the ones assembled in North America.

honda/acura sukced after 2000 . the only good car they have left is the s2k, everything else isnt all that great, and can get a better car with the money. the 4g is one of the ugliest new cars to me, i would rather get a IS250 or a G35.

but all older cars, honda/acura wins it hands down

Thumbs up Tl-s

I completely agree with the above statement both from experience and testimonials from other users.

My 1st Civic was a 1987, 1st Civic made in Ohio. 3 days after I picked up the car, had to take it in for an AC problem.

My CRV is 2000, Made in Japan. Knock on wood, no issues so far.

And my 3.2 was the last to be built in Japan. Same thing.

The 2nd Gen tranny fiasco...nuff said.

If I were to consider another TL, it will be the 3rd Gen. A TL-S.

That's why I think that a 03-04 M45 is a very good upgrade. It has nice options such as ventilated seats, it looks nice (love or hate), really rare, built in Japan, and lastly it has a 340HP V8 that goes to 60(62?) in 5.6 seconds.

Like this one..

Don't like the hood emblem, other than that very unique and nice looking car and my fav color combo.

Or maybe this one. These are cheap..
