How to remove cd player in 1997 2.5 TL
I need to replace my factory cd player because it does not play any more burned cds. Is there any instruction or diagram that I can refer to so that I can remove the stereo and install a new one.
thank you in advance.

If it is anything like the 98 TL... then follow these instructions... Sorry no pics yet... i don't have a digi cam... but maybe someone in this forum will be cool enough to show you...
1. Remove the Wood Trim around the HU... be carefull not to bend the trim or scuf the leather/vinyle
2. There will be 4 bolts holding the HU in some kind of a braket... Take all 4 bolts off...
3. Slowly pull out the stock HU to about the shift knob that should be in park...
4. Disconnect 2 cables by pushing the little button on the connector and pulling... and you are done...
To put the Aftermarket HU in... that all depends on what HU you get and what kind of adapter... Have fun...
Oh i forgot to say... if i'm missing a step please correct me... Thankz...

Hmm, maybe another write up this week, I need to get the radio code, but am defiantely not going to pay the dealer more then $10 to do it, but I've heard they charge a LOT. I want to get mine too, so I figure if I go up there with the serial number or whatever, they can look it up.

Good instructions Spooky.
Unsayne, as long as you've got the serial number (and maybe you're VIN) they'l get your code for free. What they charge you for is the labor it takes to remove the unit and get the code.
