I feel you on that copy, however to be honest, top was roughly 175~177 km/h. I was late to work yesterday, hehe.

~Cheers~

Yeah, once you start going faster than that the gas milage definately starts to fall. I try and keep it below 75 (3,000rpm), driving to school at 80-90mph definately gave me noticably worse milage.

On a closed course, my speedometer indicated 145 mph. Realistically it was probably an actual 135 mph.

132mph on I-64 from St.Louis

Pretty damn stable. Starts to get a little light in the front when you cross the 120mph mark.

Damn Binky! 244kph?!

Damn Dave0935! 140mph with 3 blokes in the car!

I'm guessing both you gentleman also have 3.2's?

Given the rate at which the car was pulling at 130mph, I'd say the car was good for 145mph give or take. It's possible a TL with a Type II motor could crack 150mph, if gearing permits.

Vishnus.. I can do at least 145 mph, but I wont. My tires arent rated for it and my self-control wont let me.

You brought up a good point about gearing.. i dont like pushing my tranny past 6200 rpms (even though the type II motor does 6700)

Yes, I have a 3.2....Sounds impossible but somehow I did it. Ofcourse my buddies in their R34 GTR and FD RX7 left me though....They were going near 300...

Suge~~ I just found out the other night that one of my old m8s pulled 306.83 KMPH in a DSM, and 350.762 on his bike.

~Cheers~

125 mph, but i have 16" second Generation rims, not the 15" that came stock on my first gen.

This would account for some error.

Ahh...I'm running V rated HX MXM4's or some mumbo jumbo so I'm not too worried. My main worry about any high speed run is aerodynamics and braking. For something with as much frontal area as the TL its not bad and slicing through the air at 120mph! I "feel" as if the front is going slightly light at 125mph but it might just be my heart inching ever so slightly towards heaven! Braking in my accord is TERRIBLE at 100mph + speeds with the rotors getting cooked quickly, but the TL seems pretty decent in this respect. I don't visually see much of a difference in size between the two sets of front rotors (comparing my 5g EX accord to the TL) but I'm thinking that the TL is better equipped to cool the fronts down.

What kind of top speed does our gearing permit - assuming 6200rpm redline. Any info on this and on the top speed of a Type II on the 4At tranny?

Personally, I'd be comfortable running at 4500rpms give or take, but nothing more than that. I reckon that'd put me at around 130mph. Now if I could just workin on getting the government boys to raise that speed limit....double it perhaps (and then some).....

Oh, and one more ? for anyone who knows? Was this car sold in Germany, or in greater Europe for that matter? I'm sure Honda/Acura engineers took that into account (as far as high speed driving goes) if it indeed was sold there. Interesting to see how it fares on the "bahn"

I was a little over 5000rpm at about 130-135mph with the pedal floored but I didn't really want to push it.... 140-145mph is probably the fastest you're going to go without hurting the car (or yourself).

The other day I was running really late for an important appointment... so I hit 105. I'm only a fan of the very occasional speed trip. I had to appologize to my car when I got there.
