yeap, my interior of my car just filled with smoke last night when i was drivin home after watching the races. I did one little run and i didnt think anything bad would come from it. My frends said that they heard my transmission making a loud clanking noise and i told them it was nothing bad. Then wen i was going home somke just poured into the cabin. I paniked and did wat the most reasonable person would do. Hit the brakes and shut off your car. i poped my hood and there was smoke there to. Then to my greatest relief it was a short in the wiring in my cig. lighter. even though i never used it.. the short burned my carpet to

DOES ANYONE KONW THE BEST WAY TO REMOVED BURNED PLASTIC CARPT FROM THE CABIN WIHTOUT LEAVIN A HUGE NASTY SCAR ?

 

umm...i don't know, if its burnt then probably need to replace the carpet. However I think that something else might be wrong? I don't think a simple wire short out would cause the smoke to "Flow" into your cabin right?

 

try this, what they recommend on a typical carpet burn at home....cut out the burned protion. get a similar, identical shape carpet, in your case, cut it out from a place where you can not see it....then just patch it, glued in of course.

if you do it well, you can not tell the difference. a good shampoo will blen it in.

get the carpet under your seat.

or you can spend a fortune and get a professional to do it? how big is the burn?

 

i'll probably try that... Dealer watned 718 bucks for new carpet.. and of course.. tahts without the labor ~_~
