HID Conversion or NOT
Well guys I did my taxes and I am getting a fairly good amount back. It suprised me so I am thinking about getting an HID Conversion kit for me car. I am tired of my PIAA bulbs burning out. What are the best prices that you have seen? What are the best brands out there. I know AutoCarParts has one for $490. Does anyone have any experience with Vision?

the whole kit is HANABI... they are great in my belief . i dont know about warranty ... if you really want a big time warranty then pay 200 more for the phillips .. these kits are really plug and play
I had Philips ballasts and ignitors I got from this shop in Brooklyn, NY. I forgot who made them. Anyway they lasted me a long time but one of my ignitors started giving me trouble. The bulb would not come on all the time and it flickered once in a while. I know this kid who works in a Mercedes dealer and he sells OEM Mercedes HIDs for cheap. I got a whole kit from him for $250. I used my Autolites 6000K bulbs with the kit though. The bulbs he gave me were D2S which wont work in our headlight. The ballasts and ignitors are made by BOSCH and I'm sure I will never have a problem with them.
OK.
Number 1 - The bulbs he sells will not work in our headlights. You will have to take the metal ring off a H4 bulb and glue it to the HID bulb so it sits in right. It shouldn’t be that hard to do. Your pattern will not be perfect but close enough. I did it to my friends 2002 Maxima and it came out pretty good. These lights are very blue and very good quality since they’re Bosch. I can probably help you install them. But for $150 more you can really save a lot of time and they will be 6000K plus you will have a perfect floor pattern.
Number 2 - There is no way to make the fogs HID with those kits. The fogs use H3 style bulbs which have a horizontal filament so you will not have a correct floor pattern. 962.5TL bought a H3 kit for his fogs.

I have the Philips 6000k Ultinon from www.autolamps-online.com with color super white at night, and looks purple in the morning from a side.
For my installation's experience:
1/ I have to loose the screw of the plate that holds the retaining clip in order to place the retaining clip back because the base of the H4 adapter for the HID lamp is thick, couldn't not slip the retaining clip back without loosing the screw.
2/ Instead of having an H4 adapter to connect to the stock connector, the kit has two yellow wires, but you only need to plug ONE yellow wire to the right connection (right if you remove the connector and look straight to the three connections) of the stock connector.
3/ I found two good places to hold the ballasts so I just need to hold the ballast by a cable ties, I'll attach the pictures soon.
4/ Aiming: I have to aim the headlights lower than stock or I'll blind everyones on the streets.
5/ The dust cover doesn't fit with the new lamp connector, I guess I have to cut the dust cover in order to get it fit with the new lamp connector, but it won't fit tight like the original.

#2 the factory plug has the low beam high beam and ground, i used a meter to fid out the low beam( i forget which one and i have it taped up)
#3 i didnt really find a place in the engine for the ballasts so i took off the front bumper adn put both ballasts behind there(i have 2 kits heads and fogs in heads) that is the neatest way to do it i think
#4 i didnt touch th aiming of the headlights .. havent had any problems
#5 what lamp connector... you should have the bulb wit 2 wires thena gromet and 2 wires in there so tahts 4 whires .. you can cut thatgromte and run to 2 wires to the bulb out of the dust cover and then you can just plug in and tape up
hope this helps
