I have a friend who used the electric piece of sh#t , and instead of helping the car all it did is restricted the airflow and the car started acting weird and threw a CEL. It dosent work. Turbo is the way to go, best power that money can buy, besides NAUUSS!!!

Electric superchargers are worthless..

Popular Science did a report on them.. all worthless.. so did Consumer Reports.

But getting air from the outside of the engine bay in so that the intake can get clean fresh air from outside won't hurt... instead of having the intake suck up engine hot air...

This project ysidro is busting out with is to get more HP. That is his intention... but if it doesn't work (which most likely 99% sure it won't) he is at least successfull in getting the air from the outside in...

Kind of like trying to get an one answer but instead you found another that wouldn't hurt your problem...

correct, but you want SMOOTH airflow. The fan is just going to restrict and make turbulent air, which is what you don't want.

Think about it this way. Take your electric leaf blower for example. Pretty strong motor wouldn't you say? Well that's not a supercharger.

Superchargers and turbochargers work by compressing air. It takes a lot of power to do that. A leaf blower just moves air.

Converting electrical energy to mechanical energy isn't efficient enough to create a small device strong enough to compress air at a level that will help your engine.
I was the first to answer Ysidro. Then I check back a few days later and this thread is still going?

Oops. I hope nobody thinks I'm being negative and contrary to progress.
