is it just me or are these clips that hold the headlight in place pretty crappy? i noticed the driver side headlight uneven the other day and when i went to touch it, the light was loose... i could pull the whole housing out, so i could feel the bottom tabs were broken... WTF?!

been looking to find a replacement, but it seems like alot of the used parts for sale also have the broken bottom tabs... anyone come across this and managed to fix it themselves? i am considering taking out the light and mounting metal brackets on the housing to hold it in place rather than the cheap plastic...

 

I don't know about mounting metal brackets, but if you are successful at it please take some pics. As far as your tabs, if you still have all the pieces can you epoxy or JB weld them back together?

 

so i took your advice... took off the headlight yesterday, which btw is a pain in the arse... you have to drop teh bumper cover and then unbolt the metal reinforced bumper inside to access the bottom bolts for the lights... it isn't hard, just more a pain...

most of my tabs were still bolted onto the frame... they were just cracked off the headlight itself... some JB weld and got 4 of the 5 tabs back on and looks strong... just hope it holds... i did multiple layers of JB weld so it looks pretty solid...
