you want to remove the whole headlight?? you can change the bulb from the back of the headlight.
you just have to unplug the lights and then take the rubber gromette (sp?) off and the bulb is right there, to take them out the metal clip has to be pushed toward the front of the car and then lifted up . and they are out.

do the same for all of them.

New bulbs

What kind of bulbs can I get and how much do they run?

Nothing fancy, just an upgrade from stock.

Thanks.

Mandy,
If you want to upgrade from stock, you pretty much have 2 options. First, you can upgrade to a different bulb. Ebay has a ton of bulbs that give you the HID look. These run anywhere from $10-$50 for a pair. Just remember to get the H4 bulb and if you get any higher wattage than 55W, get a heavy duty wiring harness (about $30). I had PIAA Plazmas for about 3 years and was very happy about the look. The other option is to go HID. This, in my opinion, is the best upgrade from stock in that you get a brighter output with less power used (35W). The downside of this is the price (anywhere from $300-$600 for a good set). I upgraded to an Osram/Hella system for about $400 and it was the best upgrade I have ever done!

H4, H3

Hi,

H4 needs a modification? H3, none?

55 watts should be plenty.

Thanks.

H4 doesn't need modification. If you get the H3, it does need some modification. The bulb that actually fits in our fog light is the H3C. This differs from the H3 in that it has a full plug on it while the H3 only has a wire coming out of it. PIAA makes an H3C and so does Sylvania. But they are rather expensive. I have the PIAA Super Yellow Plasma and got it for $50. I removed the yellow filter from the housing (in my opinion, this reduced the light output) and put these in. They look great especially up against the HID's.

Once you pull off the cover, there is a little clip that holds the bulb in place. Just unclip and the bulb will fall out into your hand.

Where should I get the H4 bulbs? Is there a big difference in the bulbs? Will any bulb which says it is "H4" work on a 2.5 TL?...

I see them on ebay for ~20bucks for a pair.. While on this site they are 40bucks a piece?.. Are the 20 dollar ones that much worse? I know you generally get what you pay for, but does anyone have any suggestions to offer?

Thanks,
Sam

I usually pay $40CDN for mine - there are many brand names, I usually get eurolite. They seem to last about the same amount of time as regular halogens, but man, do they look nice.

(wishing I had HID)

BASISON, are the PIAA's you are talking about the Ion Crystal ones? i checked their site, and that's the only mention of yellow I could find in an H3. Are these the colour that Lexus uses for their fogs?
