Just a suggetion. My 1998 2.5TL had a rough idle. Just before I was to take it in to the dealer, I changed the spark plugs and reset the PCM. Didn't notice anything immediatedly, but then went on a 250 mile round trip. Afterwards, the idle is significantly better, so no annoying trip to the dealer for now.

Put in Bosch Platinum 4 ($5.99 each). Couldn't justify the economics of the Denso plugs ($16 each).

Quick question: My idle increases (from about 600 rpm to 1000 rpm) when I turn the lights on. Does anyone else experience this?

I didnt' know about the difference just the spark plugs make...I was going to upgrade to the Direct Hits Ignition system but maybe not. I never really noticed the difference in idle RPM when the lights are on and off, I went down to my garage and idled the car in drive, then turned on my lights...and no difference.

Yeah when you turn on your headlights there is more demand for electricity so the RPM's are bumpped up to provide this.
Also notice how your RPM's increase and decrease with Air Con On
