any difference in the g25 engine/transmissions from the 92-95 vigor to the 96-98 2.5TL?? my TL needs a transmission bad and i've seen the vigor ones listed on ebay for cheap. just wondering if it will hookup or not. thanks in advance.

Mechanically it should work. In terms of the ECU and other electrical stuff, I have no idea.

All you would need to do is swap over the harnesses from your old tranny. Basically the shift solenoids, etc. need to come over because of the hookups on the engine harness side.

thanks! i will prob try to do it then since the car is paid for and no worries about down time. then i can get a tranny for $200 and save a lot of cash.

is the torque convertor shared with the accord at all? i was thinking somebody made a better tq convertor so you would have a higher stall speed for launching...

Level 10 makes torque converters, but recently the quality has gone to shit. I'm not sure about the G25, but IIRC, Honda only uses two different TCs, the HO-12 and the HO-21. I read that somewhere and find it hard to believe, but knowing how most Honda parts are interchangeable, I wouldn't doubt it. I wish I could build one with a LOWER stall speed, so I wouldn't build up so much heat from city driving... That and I definitely need one more gear. I never realised that my Civic was a 5 speed, haha (rarely drive it). No wonder it gets good mileage.

~Cheers~
