Fuel pump removal help!!

Hey guys, im actually in the 2gen section but thought I would ask my 1gen fam for some help. My brother has a 96 TL and is needing to replace the pump, does any one know where we start?

I saw that theres a DIY on a filter but the images arent there and I dont know if its even close to the pump.

Thanks in advance...

1. Remove the fuel tank (see page 11-134).
2. Remove the fuel pump mounting nuts.
3. Remove the fuel pump from the fuel tank.
4. Install parts in the reverse order of removal.

Above is from online manual I picked up some time back. unfortunately page 11-134 is missing. However, usually fuel tank removal is close to following:
1) release electrical connectors from inside trunk and feed them through opening to top of fuel tank.
2) Remove fuel fill hose segment
3) Remove fuel tank vent line hose section
4) Lower tank by releasing straps (use a box to support so it doesn't go to ground)
5) Disconnect fuel lines.
Above sequence may need some adjustment, take your time. Tank may stick to underbody due to underbody coatings or rust. Carefully pry from above to release.

good luck

Thanks for the reply, i did a little more reading ans searching and starting thinking this could be the relay. So we get home and I can hear the pump working tried to start it and wala it turned on, at this point im going to go after the relay.

I just need to know which one it is, any one know?

It's at left side of pax compartment above the fuse panel. Pretty easy to access. There should be a gray box. Separate wiring/connector base from the outer housing. Housing is a bitch to detach from bracket, but can be done w/ screwdriver under the housing where it latches to bracket.

good luck
