folks who dropped on prokits

i got eibach prokit on my 2.5 and was wondering if i need an alignment. the drop is 1.3" in the front and 1.0" in the back. i just bought new tires and spent close to 800 bucks and would really hate to buy new tires anytime soon b/c of unalignment. the alignment isn't out of wack that bad b/c it doesn't shift to the side when i drive but i know...or i think its still out of wack.

so i went to a shop today and this guy is telling me i need a camber kit and not an alignment. he said camber kit install will take apprx 3 hours and the total labor just for the camber is around 300 bucks!! is that right??

Camber kit is important but i don't think its 300 bucks. That sounds way too high. Shop around.

You should always align when loweing, no matter what. A camber kit isn't always a must. But it helps. I lowered my TL 1.75" and my Accord 2.25".

If you lower it eve just a bit, you are changing the "contact angle" of the tire hitting the road. Basically it'll wear out your tires prematurely at the least.

I had a 93 integra lowered less than 2" and just did an alignment instead of camber kit. I wore out the tread on the inside of my tires. Discount tire almost wouldnt give me a new set till I pointed out that they gave me the warranty and I bought the tires after I had lowered the car. I would get camber kit

If the drop is only that low i dont think that you will need a camber kit, but the alignment is a must. I think that guy is trying to jerk your chain and make money off of you.

had my prokit for over 4 years.. i never got a camber kit
i'm on my second set of tires
my first set wore out very very evenly and i used it for 3 summers after the drop.. i had about 5% left on each of them and all sides were worn out evenly
my second set of tires look ok.. have had them since the summer
