Fog's bulbs

Some previous posts, someone said that the bulbs for the fogs are H3-C. However, when I went out to shop for the that type of bulbs. They're not available. Only H3 as in the picture:

And this is no where near the same kind of bulbs using for the fogs.

Anyone know where to get this bulbs in Superwhite?

I found this link from the previous post from 96TL:

http://www.hitechimportlighting.com/piaa.htm

I wonder why the PIAA's website didn't list this item (h3c bulbs)

They are very rare. You can get H3 bulbs to work though. The bulb is a perfect fit, but the plug is different. You would have to ground the bulb mounting ring to the headlight plug.

Yo got it. The bulb is identical, only the plug is different, Try to get H3C so you don't have to waste your time.

How do they get ground? H3 bulbs only have 1 wire for power. The ring aroung the bulb si ground when its in the light but it won't work on our car. I tried it.

I tried that also already. It won't work for H3 bulbs. I'm going to ask Tim for a set of those bulbs.

It can work if you ground the light assembly. If you get a test light and find the ground in the foglight plug and run a short wire from there and attach it to the light assembly that holds the bulb in it would work. You would just have to find some way to attach it to the light assembly. Maybe with a ring connector around the screw that holds the light assembly together. Its ALOT easier to find H3 bulbs than H3C. Thats the only website I've ever seen that sells them. You have to send them an international postal money order. Its a pain. I went through it already.

my fault...Tim sent me H3C fog light bulbs because they looked exactly like the OEM ones. i just took out the OEM ones and put the ones from Tim right in (of course, i took out that yellow condom-looking thing first).

I'd like to do the same... How did you remove the yellow condom-looking thing?

You have to ground the peice that holds the bulb in. You can probably us a small crimp that has the ring on the end and use one of the screws that hold in the light assemply to hold it in place. Then all you have to do is plug that wire into the foglight plug (the ground) and the other wire from the bulb into the other slot in the plug (the power). Thats it.

if i remember right, you have to take out the fog light bulb. then, there are two screws, one on the top and one on the bottom. unscrew the top one completely off BUT ONLY LOOSEN THE BOTTOM ONE because it will be a ***** to put it back in if you take it completely off, trust me. then, the whole fog light assembly will come out and you will see the yellow condom. just pull out the yellow condom and there you go.

if these instructions are a bit confusing, do a search for the procedure because thats how i got instructions to do it.

Thats almost right. Loosen the top screw and remove the bottom screw. The top one is hard to get back in.

if by chance, you DO get both screws out...get a small mirror and strong adhesive tape and use the tape, screw and mirror to put it back in place. really not hard at all.
