First Modification....

ok guys i plan on going a route less traveled and i wanted your guys opinions just because i like to see other peoples view on things ... My interior is charcoal gray and i want to put a dask kit... now all the area around the shifter and cup holder lid is black plastic and the stock wood paneling on the dash is there as should be... what i want to do is put a brushed aluminum dash kit instead of the wood and down around the shifter.... whadda ya guys think ??

I would be interested in how it looks. But make sure you get the kit from a reputable place. I got one cheap kit from eBay.....lets just say I never put it on

Definatly go with the brushed aluminum. With the charcoal interior, the silver will look tight. Good luck.

Yeah, go for it, something new is always fun, and if you don't like it, theres always the stock part to put back on and someone to buy the old one (not me though, tan interior, i would look ugly)

I'd would put the aluminum in a second. Would look good with the charcoal (which I have as well) or the tan. If you get it, I would definately like to see pics bro!!

You ever seen the interior of the current Lincoln Navigator? You think the aluminum look sghetto in there!? No way, looks mint! Just has to be done tastefully and not OVERDONE. Just the right accents, that's the key to doing any custom interior work. Subtlety is key!

I have not seen the interior of the current one but I have seen aluminum in a 2nd gen TL. it all comes down to your own preference. does mb/bmw/lexus have aluminum interior?

A friend of mine has Aluminum in is Bimmer and I think that it looks incredible. He had wood, but replaced it with the Aluminum factory trim option later. It looks a million times better.

I'd have to put wood on mine... luxury... but like Ken said if you have a charcoal color definatly aluminumum... Dark colors look good with the aluminuminum finish and the beige/kahki/brown...

our cars are not made for da luminum, go with the full wood kit + wood shift knob. Then get a whore and give her some wood in the back seat

Actually, the color of the interior really depends if you can go with wood or the aluminum... besides, some girls are kinky like that and like the aluminum (especially when there are diffrent speeds ***bzzz***) ... I have a kahki/brown leather interior so the wood really is better for my int... but aluminum will work better on the charcoal/grey interior...

Post pics Soon!!!

i'd be intrigued to see some brushed aluminum instead of the standard wood around the interior, give it a go. being unique is always a quality held at high standards

The aluminum looks good if you had a black/dark grey interior. With the beige interiors, it'd look like shite.

~Cheers~

P.S. I just scrolled up and realised I posted the same thing Ken said... Oh well, just means we're right, .

Cali, I remember your car and those pictures. I think that I even printed one out and put it in my (Wishlist for the TL) folder. I liked what you did with that interior. I forgot about the "door trim grill mod". I might try it out just for the heck of it and see how it looks.
