Engine date code

How do I find what year my engine is? My timing cover has "133" written on it in crayon, so i assume thats when the t-belt was done. But under that is also "97"
I wouldnt think it got 133k put on in one year...
Is there a code spmewhere that will tell me the year of the engine?

The engine was built right at the production of the vehicle. You can find the production date in the door jam of the drivers door.

There is usually a VIN plate or little metal piece on the engine with the cars VIN on it. On Honda/Acura its usually green.

when I had a used engine put in, my mechanic could not locate the vin number. There was only a 4 digit number on the engine.

Send me your VIN to hondacuraplanet@aol.com

I can give you the serial number of the original engine, and you can match that to what's in the car....
