Dirt in the Headlight

i've got dirt inside my headlight housing. the cover that goes over the bulb was missing and after driving in the rain and some dust dirt built up. it's not very attractive compared to the brand new headlight on the other side. i was wondering if anyone has or had this problem and knows or has suggestions on how to fix it?? any help is appreciated.

I never heard of that before but if you remove the bulb to the headlight, there is a small passageway into the housing, maybe you can attach something to a pencil and clean it out that way? But das why you need that cover

that's a good idea, but that hole isnt' that big and i'm not sure it'll get it all. i was thinkin about using compressed air or something like that. or maybe even taking it to the dreaded Acura dealer. but it's up in the air now. it's really not too big a deal i would just like to have it clean.

The dirt cant be as bad as having one of your super white bulbs blowing up inside the unit and then having to remove blue pieces of glass out of the lights. I used a shop vac and got out whatever i could.

I took the hose and put up against the back of the headlight housing trough the engine compartment and turned it on and got whatever i could out. For those pieces that were further away I used a hanger wire to bring it closer so the Vaccume suction could pull the pieces up and into the hose. Hope that helps.

Good Luck.
