Question cv joint busted

Got my tires rotated and found out I have to replace my CV Joint. They (small moms and pops mechanic place) said they'll replace it for me for 110 bucks. Is that cheap? That includes the parts and labor and they said if I paid cash, they'll take off 5% so...

Anybody ever changed out their cv joint? If so, how much was it? I need a ballpark figure so I'll know if im getting ripped off or not.

CV Joint??? or CV Boot... i think those are both two diffrent things... the CV joints should be under the warrenty if i'm not mistaken... take it to the dealer and check if your car has had the recall's done to it...

I may be mistaken though... http://www.recall-warnings.com/auto-content-45551.html

Not sure if thats the same thing... it says ball joint...

i got my ball joint replaced a very long time ago....maybe 4 yrs ago or so? I know my cv boot (black rubber with ridges) is exposed to where you can see inside of it where theres a lot of grease.

Do they have to change 2 or 4 ball joints? Also if they change the ball joints would they have to change the cv boot anyway? thanks

ahhh another fellow houstonian! You need to post more often bro

ball joints are covered under warranty so you might want to check with your local acura dealership. Its worth a shot..its free.

What's the sign that the ball/CV joint needs to be replaced? A sound? what?

It is all good in H-Town. I took it to the dealer and they only changed one. And one of my cv boot is busted, so they said I have to get it changed. So do they suppose to change all 4 or 2? and if they do is the cv boot covered too. thanks
