I was thinking about taking the taillight apart and seeing if I could just remove the orange from it and make it clear.

They would look nice red. I made mine black instead. Wampum, I seen instructions online on how to do it for an Accord or Prelude. Its probably the same thing, you need a heat gun and the plastic light covers that goes over fluorescent lights in your house. It sounds hard to do. Heres a pic of my tinted lights.

962.5, got any pics yet?
Wampum, I think its pretty hard to do, its alot harder then making the new TL headlights clear because not only do you have to remove the yellow reflector, you have to cut out a new clear one and glue it on. Then you have to seal the whole thing up. I'm gonna try to find the instructions on how to do it. I've never done this before and I dont know anyone who's done this to a TL so it's pretty risky to try this out.

Just want to warn you guys that spray painting over the reverse lights is ILLEGAL. So remember to leave those areas clear. Easily done by cutting out a piece of paper and just taping it on there.

Hey yeah I was thinking the same thing. I saw a right or left on on ebay for like $25. I think its worth $25 for a shot. I am also thinking after you clear out the orange why do you need to put in a clear. Can't you just leave it with out a diffuser?(sp)

Hmm, you probably could be it depends how the diffuser looks. If its very relective and has ridges like the headlights then it would be nice, if it that dull smooth mirror then it would look ugly. I'm tempted to try it but how do I get off the black tint I sprayed on? lol. I wonder if it does come off.

where did you get the paint from to to do this? Does the red blend in with the rest of the tail light. My car is champagne so i think an all red tail would look sweet.

did you use the removalbe or the one with the blue background? the "permanent" one? if you used the removable, does that easily come off? like in a bad storm? what about the permanent one? you cant remove that at all? not with like alcohol or other stuff? thanks.

I've used the Japanese spray for tailights on my windom in Japan. They have red, smoke, black, amber ect. If you need to take it off it will come of with a razor blade. Just have to be carefull. I had to remove it every year to pass inspections.

it's hella easy. just put newspaper where you don't want the paint to go and go layer by layer. make sure the previous layer dries. and also make sure there's no dust particles on the lenses so that the paint won't clump up. and have a spare towl with you to quickly dab out all drops of paint that accumulates at the edge. easy stuff.

i don't want to risk it man.....The place where I got my side skirts painted will basically do it for free. Somethings I'm good at (when it comes to modding our car) and others I'm not. Painting..... I'm no good at. The last thing I would want is a sh!tty loking taillight

Have you guys ever seen the red vinyl that is see through. That is what i used to use on Civics and stuff like back in the old days when "Red Out" taillights was the "thing" to have. I still think it looks good on some cars but not always. I have a roll of red here now. Maybe I'll try just to see what they look like.

No doubt. I always said they weren't worth buying either. Then I just said, "Screw it", and I bought them. They're worth every penny. They completely change the rear end of the car.
