Cleaning the wheels

I keep my TL super clean but cleaning the wheels is a pain in the butt. It seems as if the brake dust fused with the wheel. What do you guys use to get the crud off?

To get everything off, use a strong cleaner, something like Eagle One All Wheel and Tire Cleaner, available locally at someplace like Autozone, it's what I've been using lately to try and get the last bit of built up stuff off.

You can use a claybar on them also, just use car wash soap/water or a QD, whatever you prefer.

After all of the stuff is off, you can seal the wheels just like you would the paint, or leave them.

A good set of wheel brushes helps a ton too, don't underestimate them at all, especially with the stock 11 spoke wheels

After I clean, scrub the shit out of my wheels ( stock, ofcourse), I use bathroom and tile cleaner which is mainly for removing stains and mildew. It is a strong cleaner with lots of bleach. I spray it on, let it sit for 10 minutes, scrub some more and rinse off....wow! It does wonder !

So try spraying bleach. But dont bleach on non-factory wheels, may f#*k them up.

The bleach cleaner sounds like it would work but the risk of it eating the tire is great.

Actually its a household cleaner for use on plasty, rubber, caulk, etc. Nothing done to my tires....any runs I wash off with soap again anyway.
