hey everyone...i always hear about the clay bar and zaino thing, so i was just wanted to know what it really is??? and what is the difference between the two products and also where can i get these products??? i just know that they are like types of wax of stuff like that. i want my paint to look new and shinny because i just got my skipper lip and customized side skirts and back kit and im gonna paint it soon because i might put it in hot import nites in the la convention center.

A clay bar is, erm, a bar of clay that you rub on your paint, and it picks up all of the pieces of metal, rock, etc in your paint, making it smooth again.

Zaino is not really wax per se, but a type of gloss finish you can put on your car.

Doing both results in a smooth, shiny, and protected paintjob. You'll be happy, though it takes a lot of work.

For those that haven't used the clay bar yet, let me tell you it is simply amazing. With the help of a lubricant, you just rub a bar of clay on your paint until it is smooth. You will pick up all the contaminants and dirt that is embedded in your paint. This will dramatically improve the look and feel of your paint.

As for Zaino, praxiis is correct in saying that it isn't really a wax. In fact, it is a polymer that dramtically enhances the optical clarity of your paint and protects it from UV rays, dirt, etc. The only problem with it is that initially the application is complicated and tedious. You have to apply multiple coats to get the best results. I recently did the entire program (which incidentally took a full day) and I was blown away at the results. Now, it's just a matter of weekly maintenance like washing and spray gloss enhancer.
