under dash.. passanger side there is a small blue connector under the blower motor that holds it. The wires in the plug are brown with a black stripe and blue with some sort of stripe. anyhoo its a wire thats colors are differant thats plugged into a little blue holder. unplug the plug from the holder and use a paperclip of wire to jump the terminals together. (connect the wires together with the wire or clip) then the light will flash .

slow flashes are the 10's so if it flashes 4 slow then 5 fast. that would be a 45 which is too rich or too lean. good luck

LOL colt, way too much info there brotha

i think he means how can he turn it off without touching wires. anyway, the engine light usually comes on when your gas cap isnt on tight. you have to turn it until it clicks 3 or more times. it also turns on when you use different gas from what you normally would use. did you use 93 or 87 or something?? it could also be your emission too but that can be done by the dealership. good luck

if u want to reset it u can just take off both battery terminals and connect them together for a min... then put them back on the battery... that will reset everything including the CEL... i did that after i finished installing my alarm and the light came on...

OKAY TAKE BOTH THE POS AND NEG TERMINALS OFF THE BATTERY COMPLETELY!!! then when no battery is connected to the car hold the two pos and neg cables together... since there is no battery connected u will not get shocked or fried... just make sure the car is off too hehehe... what i did was got 4 guage wire and held one end of the wire to the pos and the other end to the neg... this will restore (reset) the whole car... after about a min of completing that circuit put everything back to normal... remember pos goes first to the battery... and ur CEL should be off...

This is a common way to RESET most cars and dealers use a wrench to bridge the gap. 10 seconds is all it needs.

As for the Check Engine light, it could be the gas cap like someone mentioned or it could be many other emission items. You should turn the gas cap and see if it goes off in a few days or if you want to troubleshoot, get an OBD II Scanner for about $70 bucks at AutoZone. The connection is under the ash tray. This unit will provide exactly what error faults are stored in your car.

If you live in LA, I have the scanner and could run it for you.

uhh no offence but thats rediculous. MAybe thats how you reset a 83 s10 or some ****, but i have built MANY hondas. Take the neg terminal off for like 5-10 secs and the light will reset.

IF THAT DOESNT WORK FOR YOU.... TAKE THE ECU AND THE HAZARD FUSES OUT.. that will reset your ecu.
