Changing front wheel stud...

Has anyone ever changed one of the front wheel studs? I accidently broke one on Saturday because I couldn't find my torque wrench. Any advice before I try to figure it out on my own?

A couple of bucks at a small shop? A friend broke his off 3 days ago. A lot of people said it was easy but he didn't bother. $20 later he got all the studs replaced. He bought the studs for like $1 each.
