Changing compressor
I've had some issues with my ac for the last few weeks. Sometimes it blows cold air and other times it blows hot air. Its making a really weird noise in the engine bay also. I bought some coolant and recharged the thing and it still does the same sporadic stuff. I took it to the dealer on 8/18 (Proctor Acura in Tallahassee, FL) and they quoted me $1385.00 to start. They said that the bearings in my compressor were bad and that I needed a newcompressor and coil. Like I say, it works sometimes and when it does it acts exactly like it should - cold as F@#K on 67. I was thinking maybe a bad clucth or loose belt.
Is it possible to change the bearings and not have to by a compressor?
Could I change out the whole compressor and have them flush and fill it or rather fill it?
Is $1385 for starters an insane amout?
Anyone have directions on how to change it?

The clutch bearing may be dry and making noise. If noise is persistent whether clutch is engaged or not, the clutch bearing is likely. Clutch bearing can be replaced w/o discharging if you can access the face of the compressor. Defintely do-able on a 2.5TL. Don't know about a 3.2TL.
Remove clutch plate center bolt, remove clutch plate, remove snap-ring retaining clutch pulley, and remove clutch pulley. Bearing is contained in the clutch pulley. Best bet is to buy a new clutch pulley w/ bearing installed. If you can't find a pulley by itself, buy a used clutch assy and use that pulley. Be sure to adjust the clutch gap to 20 +/- 6 mils by adding/removing shims behind the clutch plate.
A Honda shop manual for your car would be a big help if you're DIY.
good luck
