Carrying more than 2 people

Is it me or when u carry about four people in the TL is drives kind of slow and heavy? lol. When i am by myself the car drives fine and when push the pedal down to the floor the car will move off fast. But with more than 2 people in the car it drives very heavy and slow.

Anyone else have this problem?

I tell alot of them all the time that its a one person car even though it has four doors and extra space in the back seat lol. and none of them are fat anyway.
But do you think having a full size tire instead of a donut in the trunk can also be contributing to it?

It's not going to make a noticeable difference unless you are racing. This is a car with 176HP out of the box that's been on the road for over a decade...it's not meant to be a sports car. When you put 500-800lb of people in a heavy as it is vehicle it's going to slow it down..

its common sense.. yes a full size spare and 3 fat friends will make a noticeable difference!

No no, wanna know what was slow? When i had my 1994 Saturn SL1 with the A/C on P/S, 85HP, and automatic, then add 6 friends on top of that.... 0 to 60 was 45 secs. LOL. Yep yep, good times.

^ Holy crap, haha. I had 3 girls in the back and my friend and I up front, and I still pulled a 5.0 Mustang through GG Park! Could barely hang the turn, though, and it felt about as stable as a wet noodle.

~Cheers~

You don't exactly have a normal TL with a 2.5 in it....

Haha, that's true. Kev16's is a 3.2, though, so instead of the 176 you posted, he's got 200 crank, but the added weight kinda balances that out, and doesn't change the handling characteristics too much. Even with my RSB, which helps, I try not to have too many people in the car because of how it feels.

With 3 people and some luggage, though, I did average 30MPG driving back from LA a few weeks ago so I'm happy!

~Cheers~

Yeah i know what you mean. i tell my friends the TL is only a 2 seater..lol.. even tho it got 4 doors i still tell them that. well one thing besides haveing the TL loaded with people and going slow i dont like to have alot of people in the car it feels weird.

our cars are heavy as hell. I've owned trucks that weigh less.
