cant find it

Im trying to find a better way to hook my mp3 player to my stock stereo. Im using a cassette adapter nos, but it kills the sound quality.
Im almost sure i saw someone hook up some adapter to the back of their stereo, but i cant find the post anymore

Any help? Thanks!

The cost of the product is probably the same as an aftermarket radio.

I like how clean the stock deck looks. If i get an aftermarket one, it will be a fullsize touchscreen unit

Get that unit then because then you won't have any regrets in the future. You can always transfer the unit from one car to another as well.

Also IMO, if you bought that AUX unit, it would be very hard to sell.

I'm installing it right now hehe

I'll compare it to a cassette adapter and tell you how big the difference is.

I want one with gps and navigation, and plays dvds. I would never use either of them, but it would be sweet!

Fairly inexpensive double-din decks for sale on Amazon.com includes navigation, bluetooth, etc. but check out the pioneer ones those are my favorite.

Pioneer has one with just wma/mp3/ipod aux usb and cd/dvd with sat. radio capability and bluetooth capability for $350 touchscreen no flip out just screen. Anyways on top of having a double-din if you want to watch anything while driving you have to rig it to do so by adding a switch bypass. I'm currently using a pioneer single deck with aux plug attached to an 80g ipod very simple plus subwoofer in the back and surround sound 2-way coaxial speakers not sure what brand. But I've heard that stock deck and I personally couldn't deal with just that.

If you heard originals (not the "remastered" stuff) on a quality system, you'll find nuances to the music you never would've noticed.

~Cheers~

OK I tried installing the iPod adapter and it doesn't work... Everything's plugged in but it doesn't switch to CD changer mode.

Yeah I did and nothing...

It really blows because I waited like three weeks for this adapter since they don't ship to Canada. I had to ship it to my cousin in Chicago and then he flew it over to me only to find out that it just doesn't work. Really disappointing.

I installed an AUX input in my RL. I have a 3.5mm plug coming out for my GPS, phone, ipod, whatever I want to play. I disconnected my CD changer in order to do this and used a PIA adapter. Sounds great, cost me about $50 and an hour of time and I kept the stock look.

Pretty much same instructions as mentioned above. Here's my DIY:

Yeah, that's what I did. The only difference between the one you have and mine is the cable that goes into the cd-changer socket. Mine is angled whereas yours is straight. So I connected everything, pressed/held the CD button and nothing happened. I guess it's defective, but I can't RMA it since I'm in Canada.

vas25tl, did you have to hold the CD button a long time, or just press it?

I didn't have to hold it down, I just press it and the stereo thinks it's playing off the cd changer.
