The best way I can think of doing this is replacing our factory bulb plug. The factory bulb is a 7440 which is single filament. Get a 7443 plug with a 7443 bulb which is double filament. Now you will have 3 wires coming out of the plug instead of 2. Wire 2 the same way as the 7440 was and hook up the 3rd wire to the parking light wires. I think our brake light plug is a 7443 so go to the dealer and tell them you need 2 of them. I've been thinking of doing this for the longest time but never got around to it.

You know what. Before you buy anything check your brake light plugs and make sure there are 3 wires coming out of each plug. If theres only 2, then I dont know how you can do it.

OK.
#1 - mugsy76, he will have a blinker. The whole purpose of doing what I said is to convert the bulb from a single filament to a double filament. One filament will stay on all the time and the
other one which is A LOT brighter will come on with the blinker. It is the same as a brake light. It stays lit all the time, then gets bright when you press the brake. Both of those functions are
from 1 bulb. 2nd Gen TLs have those type of bulbs for the front corner blinkers also. They look a lot nicer.
#2 - unx979, he means the front bumper blinkers.

I ran across a message on this board a while ago about just this thing.
Someone re-wired their light so it was constantly on (same bulbs), but when they signal, the light blinks (this is what I want to do).
Their only problem was that the light blinked fast, as if the bulb was burned out. They mentioned something about resistors, etc that would solve this problem.
I haven't looked into this further, because my car has an extended warranty, and I don't want to fiddle too much!

OK. Tonight I looked at my friend's 2001 Maxima front blinker plugs. They are 1157's which are also dual filament like the 7443's I mentioned. They have 3 wires so the 7443's probably do also. I would do this mod but I think I'm replacing my front blinkers with LED bulbs. Good luck for whoever tries it though. If you guys dont know where to get the plugs, I know someone from www.autolites.net that can get them. If anyone needs help, ask me.
