broken wheel studs

I have a 96 acura 2.5tl and the other night i was driving down the street and i heard a knocking noise from the passenger side tire so i stopped and noticed that two of my wheel studs were broken off and the other two lug nuts werent even tight. Like the two lugs i could take off with my hands. So i was just wondering if anyone has ever had to get their wheel studs replaced and how much it cost them to get it done. thanks everone.

You're talking to the master of broken studs here, haha! Because my front right hub was seized, I had to grind the knuckle down and pull the studs out from behind. That was the easy part, as when I put the new studs in, I had to fix the thread after seating each stud because of it scraping as it went in. I had this done at a shop with my help and it still cost me $300 and over 3 1/2 hours to do 5 studs on one side. A new hub with studs now costs $60, withough labour, but that wouldn't have helped me since that side was seized.

~Cheers~

P.S. Never use the L-shaped lug wrench to tighten/loosen your lugs. Only use the cross or an air gun set on level two.

No... just don't jump on it. I've always used a L shaped lug wrench. The car even comes with one from factory.

^ Easier to say not to use it so people won't just forget and step on it to get lugs off. We of all people should know that just because it comes a certain way, it doesn't mean it's the best, .
