Broken Door Handles
Is the broken door handle common in the 1st. gen. TL's??? Almost every other one i've seen has the broken popped out handle... it still works, it is just missing a spring or something...
Has anybody had them repaired? How Much? DIY, How???

As far as i know they cant be repaired, they have to be replaced. Some stupid spring pops out and thats all she wrote. It happened to me yesterday. I was so pissed. They are expensive too. If anyone does know how to repair them please let us know.

I think he means that the handle no longer springs back into place it kinda jus floats now. happened to both my front doors. I tried to fix it myself but that didn't work out so well.

Had the Dealer do it, it is not so easy to do it. Did it on both Handles, Driver and Passenger. Cost a lot. Handle itself is ~ $120.00. Labor is 2 hours, ~ $150.00.
Sucks, but such is the 1st gen TL. One of the weakest links.......
