Brake Upgrades?

I was taking pictures of the ride and noticed how bad the rusted rotors looked. What do you guys replace your rotors with, or do you just try and not think about it? I am not looking to do anything crazy like a total Brembo upgrade (I saw a $2500.00 price for this!) but something to make it look nice. Also, who has painted their calipers?

if you plan on replacing the rotors yourself...dont. heh. i believe it's the fronts that are next to impossible to remove unless you have professional tools. and also, i have my calipers painted too. what are you wondering about them?

Daemonicus-I am just concerned about the rotor rust. I don't notice it in a lot of the pictures I have seen of the cars on here, and I wanted to know what you guys did. (whether you upgraded them, or there was something else that was done to them to hide it) I wouldn't dare dream of trying to take these rotors off myself. Every shop that I have taken the car to to get brake work done has whined about these rotors and how hard they are to get off. I had one mechanic break one of my studs getting the rotors off.

Kam, I can't wait to see pictures. My uncle is my mechanic for 99% of my needs, (I don't usually bother him with oil changes, just the heavy stuff) The next brake job that I get, I will be ready with my high heat paint to do the calipers when he takes them off.

Take the entire rotor off and paint it with high heat paint (stove paint, header paint, etc.). The contact area will scrub off as soon as you hit the brakes and the rest of the rotor will be protected.

And no hard braking for a little while, meaning, I mean, life and death braking, until they paint wears off. Even then, check your pads to make sure *all* of it is gone.

~Cheers~

Changeing the rotors aren't hard. All you need is an impact screw driver (I think thats what its called). You can get it at Sears, just get more then 1 bit cause they break easy.

Man Kam, those look sweet. I am going to do a search for the rotora slotted rotors and AEM brake pads. You have to tell me how much of a difference it makes. Thanks for posting pics. Can't wait to see them on the car!

Thanks for all of the tips guys!

Get Folia Tec for the calipers. Works and looks great. Yeah I'm dying for rotors and brakes too. Next mod I think.
