bmw 5 series headlights

well I've decided to take a leap and put e39 headlights in my car (02 5 series).. only problem being that I'm not sure about wiring.. bulbs size, housing size, should I get the halogen versions and put in a xenon conversion or just go with the xenon version?.. and does anybody know what virginia will say about this?.. this is just one step of many I'm taking towards turning my baby into a show car.. I asked on a bmw forum but they didn't even respond then tried their search feature and it was down.. bastards.. but if anybody has any info thated be great.. I feel like a newbie haha.. anyway.. thanks... later

you have an 02 5 series, it IS an e39. i suggest getting the oem xenon headlights cuz nothing can touch them. those aftermarket 'kits' are just for people who want the color, and don't know much about real HIDs.
