I hear something squeking when I come to a idle. Sometimes it sounds like a rattle and sometimes like a squek. When I open the hood I can hardly hear it. I have a feeling its the alternator becaue my last car did the same thing. My system probably killed it. Anyone else have any experience with this?

I had a squealing belt on my last vehicle especially when my system was cranked up. I think that was due to the current draw and the alternator belt slipping too much.

 

Hmm, I wonder what it is. I'm getting the 60,000 mile tune up very soon so I'll just make ACURA check it out. Maybe its a pulley that needs to be greased or something. I dont drive my car hard at all, I baby it all the time. That sound is so annoying, it makes me feel like I'm driving a junker.

Past experience tells me a rattle, especially related to engine speed - is often a waterpump.

Alternators - if its having problems you should see symptoms like the alternator light coming on, dim headlights, etc
