Acura TL: gas killer
I dont know if its just my car, but it kills alot of gas! I drive a 98 3.2 tl and I average about 17 mpg. I live in san francisco too where gas prices are crazy (1.97/gallon for premium). Do you guys know any tips/products to help increase better gas milege? I heard of products like the Tornado and Z-max but I'm not sure if they really work. Any ideas?

FINALLY another TL owner in the bay area. yah my car gets really poor milage too. i would suggest getting an air filter, either a cone one or a CAI. more hp and higher gas mileage. good stuff. welcome to the board.

tornados are crap!! does not work.. couple of guys on the board had them and said it don't work so dont waste your money on that stuff. to save gas, you can do a couple of things. not floor it from a complete stop, um..try not to turn on your ac when its not necessary (frisco should be pretty cool compared to houston), using cruise control saves gas too..

Try Changing your oil.
I dont think a single item will make a noticable difference.
Do what others have said about air filter and change your oil also.
I use 5w30...
Maybe synthetic to help clean the engine if you have sludge.

mileage eater
I hear ya... I just did the math, and up here in Saskatchewan Canada I'm paying the equivalent to $2.15 american per US gallon.
I just did some research, and it looks like I found a drop-in OEM replacement K&N air filter. At first the K&N book claimed that they don't make a drop-in replacement for my 97 3.2TL
HOWEVER, the Fram book shows that my car uses the same air filter as the 91-95 Legend, and there is a K&N filter for that. I'm gonna order it today, and hope it fits...

drop-in K&N
I have to special order it, and it might take a week...
If anybody else out there is in a bigger city (more than 200k people), and their local parts store has a better selection, try it out!
The K&N part number is 33-2089
