What Honda Civic/Accord engines fit with the 96 TL?

None, or all with a lot of custom work. Any stock one would be a downgrade, though.

Where's your sig?

How many miles is "too many"?

If you had maintained it properly, it'd last you well over 300,000.

Tranny kick could be from the rear tranny mount. It's a rather weak one since it was designed for comfort.

Where's your sig?

Its just a bad transmission mount. Its a common problem that can be easily fixed.

If you're really worried about your engine, step up to a 3.5 motor.

My transmission shifts pretty smooth unless I am coming to a stop sign and then accelerating again after an almost complete stop. Is that possibly due to a transmission mount?

Possibly.

When you go from park to reverse, park to drive, neutral to drive etc etc you'll feel a big shift in the car (if the mount is bad)

Hmm..."big" is certainly subjective. I definitely feel a shift in my car when going from park to reverse, but it's not a big one (to me).

Yeah pretty much. I hate being in traffic because it kicks all the time. The trick is to slowly accelerate for a few seconds after you slow down. And in traffic I just put it in second gear to avoid any shifting.

Anyone know an aprox price for the mount(s) in question along with a rough price in labor?

If you can stand your car down for a few days, take out the broken mount a poly it. What I mean is to fill in the mount with polyurethane to make it a solid one. You'll get some more lower RPM vibrations, but response and shifting will improve. It's a small trade-off. You can also poly it with a softer compound, which won't vibrate as much.

Once again, we seem to have the exact same symptoms. By cold do you mean when the weather is cold, since when it's warm or when the car warms up in cold weather it shifts smooth when driving normally, it's only when I start driving in winter or something that it's kinda rough.
