New here, I have a Legend as well. Just bought a TL. Love acuras. Anyway, i bought the TL for $1000 nothing major wrong had engine rebuild work and transmission work. The lady was moving to New mexico couldnt take it with her. told me it locked up on here one day couldn't reverse and it may be something wrong with the differential. Easy job i thought just needed some oil in it. Did that and it drove smooth then it started the locking up again took a look at the differential and it is cracked from the top almost all around causing the oil to leak out. So what i need to fix this is a new or used differential, the transfer case or something because that is all that is holding me up. Does anyone here know where i can get one shipped to Vegas, i have looked at pic a parts they dont have TLs they are so rare and any place i ask for one try to tell me that i have to buy the whole transmission when i know i dont. PLEASE HELP SO I CAN GET ANOTHER ACURA TL ON THE ROAD.

Found this and probably your best bet since even the tranny is costly and rare itself this being inexpensive and probably save other possible problems down the road....http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/95-96...item2eafe3195b still $400 bucks though cheapest I found on there anyway. Not a transmission, just the differential. its a separate part. the transmission is fine. she had that and the engine rebuilt. so buying a transmission would be a waste of money.

Sorry thought it was included, the setup for the 2.5 engine is all f&&*ed up good luck finding just that though.

in the event that I couldnt find one, What anyone recommend welding the crack. i believe the case is aluminum. thats the reason it cracked. I figure that because who ever did work on the transmission before i got it used an impact wrench to bolt the transmission back to the differential and the vibrations made it crack.

does any one know where i can find a how to so that i can manually replace the differential?
