Someone in a new Jeep Grand Cherokee merged into me on the highway, front bumper, headlight, quarter panel, drivers door skin, mirror, wheel, bumper lights, and some possible brake/suspension damage.

Anyone have similar work done?

I will post shitty camera phone pics later, maybe pictures of the car in a couple days.

dude... that sucks... hard. i love my car and i've only had it for a couple weeks. i'm still kind of scared something will happen to it, you know... when you first get a car.

sucks to hear of something happen to our precious 1st gens. And if i remember correctly, you had just installed a carputer in ur ride, and had it lookin pretty slick. Man, hope everything works out, and i HOPE HOPE HOPE they don't total it!

I just installed the inspire tails, but they weren't damaged thankfully.

The carputer is pretty recent too, I actually had the screen out because I was remolding it, flush this time.

Parts to be replaced:

Front bumper
Driver's headlight
drivers corner lights
front driver's quarter panel
front driver's wheel
driver's door skin (possibly)
driver's side mirror (most likely)

There is some possible/probably suspension or brake damage also, there was something rubbing when I was slowing down, but nothing that I could see obviously hanging down.

I wasn't hurt, neither was the other driver.

Basically, we were coming up on a construction zone where the left lane ends. We were both in the left lane, with him behind me. I merged over to the right one lane before the left lane ended. When his lane began to end, he tried to speed up and merge in front of me, but didn't have anywhere near enough space, and instead of slowing down, just came into my lane and hit me.

i keep a metal bat in my trunk for things just like this. i'm also italian and i tend to black out and do stupid shit when i get pissed. this... would do it.

F**king construction is never done there. They'd been at it since 2000, I think.

I suggest you give Metro Collision in Johnston a call.
Not alot of autobody can get the headlights,bumper,and fender align seamlessly.
And you get a free rental too.

My car is at a local shop right now, Bristol Auto Body, I have seen their work before and been pretty happy with it.

i know exactly where yur talking about. that fuckin sukcs man. come out to westerly auto body sometime. i gotta bring mine there cause some asshole hit my shit in a parking lot. and the rear driver wheel well is getting some rust from water in the liner. but never the less man. thank god yur ok. and kill the dude later

I think I will hear from my insurance appraiser tomorrow, find out what the total comes to.

I gotta get my copy of the report from the state police though, and get my report sent to insurance, buh, sucks.
