I have a 1996 Acura 3.2 TL with about 100K miles. The ABS light is on and there is a sound coming from the front right wheel for about 2 seconds after the vehicle is started. The dealer says "CAR HAS CODE 1 ABS NEEDS ABS MODULATOR AND ACCUMULATOR - $2470."
Does this sound right? I hate to spend the money if I don't need to? Thank you so much! --kidguitar

that bullsh*t man, i wouldnt do it without a st LEAST a second and third opinion...

 

**** for 2 and a half grand ABS isnt that important to me lol just j/k, shop around go to at least 3 other places and get estimates

 

My moms car has the same problem. My local mechanic said he can get me a rebuilt one for about $800 and about another $250 to install it. Definitely shop around. I think he said a new one is about $1250.

 

but the service manual, check out the junk yards,,and have a local garage install the parts for you...thats what I would do.

 

My abs lite would come on after a short time of driving.
Then it would go off after a restart. Then on again as stated above.
Is yours constant or intermittent?

I had my abs system flushed twice.
What was happening was that the valves (or whatever is in there)
was sticking due to build up.
I would try a flush first.
