starter perhaps, my brother had to get his starter replaced on his 3.2TL at 60,000 miles, my 2.5TL same year has 97,000 and the starter is just fine. Ok pointless story, check your starter.

this is funny.. now that it is all cold over here my dad's car is hard to start in the morning.. i just dropped it off at the garage today to get it checked out.. however my TL starts without a problem everyday even if it sits.. check to see if u need a tune up.. or a starter.. a battery even helps.. i find it that my car starts much faster with the auto starter than when i do it by hand...

oh wow, a vietnamese brotha! welcome to the forum

i had this problem twice. i thought i needed a new battery or something but it usually does this during the cold weather....its rare though. see if your radio and headlights work.. if it does and if you try to start the car and it makes a clicking sound, then you'll need a new starter. if your headlights and radio dont work...obviously its a dead battery.

once in while mine does that as well. I think just when it is cold out though. It will take a few secs to start.

OK, MY CAR NEVER STARTS. it takes it five seconds to start everytime. i am to lazy and busy right now to take it in. im pretty sure its the starter, because my battery is brand new and this starting problem just started a couple of months ago.

Tuantl,

What are the symptoms? G1 TL's are notorious for hard starts when the fuel is low. I had a starter done at 70K. Turn the key, nothing, nothing, nothing, then turns over ans starts. Bad starter. I haven't had any problems since the new starter.

Good luck.

it's probebly not even the starter.....becasue i had and still have the problem with my car.....it clicks when i try to turn it on or won't do anything.....i went to get the starter changed and they told her that their is nothing wron with the starter....they checked the starter, altinator (don't know how to speel) and the battery.....they told me it's the code p1705......meaning that the car is not in park or n when keying on or off......they told him i have to get my shift and the mounting checked.....so before you get the starter changed.....have it checked....if you have an AUTO ZONE go their....they will checked you starter, altinater, and the battery for free.......i mean their is no point wasting money on the stuff that has nothing wrong with it......

I had the same problem and i changed my starter and everything works fine now. So if I'm correct it's your starter.
