96-98 TL Production Figures
Anybody know how many TLs were sold in the US market? I've never looked for spare parts in junkyards, but was interested in how common they are, say compared to Accords.

Yeah, I dont remember exact numbers.. but I DO remember that Acura has sold more 2004 TL's than ALL 1st gen TL's made TOGETHER.
80,000 sounds about right, it was not a high volume car.

TL no more!
Heh...there's a shit load of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen TL's. I see at least 5 1st gen TL's running around here in a day.
...and a ton of 3rd gen Odysseys ('05) too. When it first came out, we were the first people owning one. Now you can see plenty of '05's running around.

Keep in mind the 1st gen TL was not a high volume car, nor was it in high demand. It was the 2nd gen TL that really helped Acura as it was about 5000 bucks cheaper and based on the Accord platform.

98 TL's were the last to be built in Japan. Volumes were close to 80K US and Japan demand at that time. Now 80K in US alone.
Did you know that the Japanese want our US made TL's now?
We want Inspires, they want our TL's. The problem is the production line to build the right hand drive vs. our style.

And yes, the Japanese Inspire should be brought over here. I'm surprised Honda hasnt taken the 2004+ TL and sold it in Europe, I think it would do well there.

I want my 1st Gen with stock navi... that'd be cool... (updated software though, ofcourse...)
I'll trade someone from Japan

and if i remember, he actually had a 2000+ TL DVD Navi in his car.
What I want is the Navi meant for the 1995-98 Inspire/Saber, somehow magically working for the US
