ot sure where you're getting your information for 0-60 times but the '04 TL puts down 6.3 seconds and the same year G35 puts down 6.2. similarly, the TL runs 14.8 in the 1/4 mile and the G35 runs 14.6 so you've got potential to beat the TL but you by no means "smoke" them, unless your friends can't drive.
What I mean by smoked him is, my car accelerated faster than his car by 2 car gap before he caught up. then later, I was gone and he cant catch up,the road ended,race done. I dont know about the numbers and I dont care.We actually went out and experience it, and now we agree that Acura needs to step up in hp and torque for their future gen TL, and also maybe..RWD perhaps?
um...no shit. torque gets you off the line faster and horsepower is what keeps you going. even the first gen 3.2 TL only puts down 210 lb-ft while the G35 puts down 260-270 and they both weigh within 50 lbs. of each other. that makes a big difference so why would you even try and compare those?
The numbers will tell you so. And Im just sharing with you my experience thats all.

The G35 is RWD which is a big advantage in terms of acceleration times.
Heres a video that demonstrates. The G will go head to head with an 06TL towards the end of the video. I think at 1:52 minutes. Watch the take off.
