2.5 TL Oil Pan

The oil drain plug got stuck and I've tried to remove it. Sadly, I put too much torque and punctured the oil pan

Does anyone know where I can order an oil pan? I've checked with the Dealer and they've quoted me $600.00 for it. Servicing it would cost me $1200.

I'm looking for either an aftermarket or a used one if possible. Also, how difficult it is to replace it? Is it worth it to just have the dealer replace it?

Thanks

How bad is it ?
you can buy a drain valve plug and use JB cement to fix it.
I know it is a pain to get the pan out, it's gonna cost $$.

Look at this one.

Also, use this link for some photos. Someone in Vigor forum posted picture with similar problem and how he fixed it.
You need to have a Yahoo log in.

This is expensive. I tried the JB Weld to no avail on mine, but I think that it was user error.
The cheapest quote I got on replacement was $900.00 from an independent shop. I was always quoted $400.00 for the pan though. I would exhaust all of those other options from Kam & Meazz first. It is a serious pain to replace, and most independent Honda/Acura shops that I called wouldn't even do it.

Good Luck!

A monkey at a quick lube place cracked mine, but that is a long story....

You can get a brand new oem oil pan for $376.xx + shipping.
Here's the link.
I've no idea about the labor though. I suppose you may want to go the inexpensive routes suggested in the previous posts. But if you do have to replace the oil pan, buying it from Delray will be cheaper than buying from your local dealership.

Thanks for all the responses... I will try to patch it and if that doesn't work, I'll go the route of getting the PAN. Darn Valvoline guy over torqued the drain plug and they've stripped it.

Texaco Express Lube over torqued mine and cracked it. Good Luck getting this resolved. I hope that it works out amicably for you.
