1st Gen TL morale

I've noticed a dwindling of talk about our 1st Gen TLs! I read a few about people wanting to sell their 1st Gen TLs ..or the mentioning of other "superior" cars out there. Are we going extinct soon? Will this 1st Gen message base turn into a ghost town? Are people losing interest in our cars??

Come on guys, spread the word ...1st Gen TLs rule! get involved!

i blame it on a lack of products and mods for our car. plus, this site was originally geared towards the 2nd gen TL.

Nah I still love my TL but of course we all have dreams of having better and faster cars, but I agree that the lack of aftermarket support is discouraging

TL

I agree. This board is really quiet for the 1st gen tl owners. Look at the 2nd gen forum it blows this one away. It also sucks there aint **** for our cars. But I love my first gen TL, and will keep it a very long time. Rock on 1st Gen!!!!!!!!1

No lack of interest here. I like both old and new Acuras, so I'll never lose interest.

My problem is these forums take like 2 mins to load and another minute or two just to get into a thread, so I've stopped coming around. Could be the issue with others, I don't know.

I agree. Limitation on mods also limits conversation.

yeah i would post a lot more, but the site is hella slow for some reason. sucks. well i guess it's a good thing cause finals are right now so i won't get distracted as much. i still love my TL to death. i mean i do look at some of the new cars like the bimmer 330 and wish i had one of those, but heck i'm accustomed to the TL so whatevers. i think once we get the body kits on, we'll be good to go

yeah but maybe it's good that there aren't that many people interested in tl's - I wanted a maxima, legend, even es300 at one point, but it always pissed me off that everyone and their friend had one. Our car, on the other hand, is a real sleeper: very few people even know it exists, let alone how reliable, classy looking and decently-performing it is.

it's also really cool when mechanics complement you on the car. they don't even realize it's an acura. they think it's a new model or something. And when they realize it's an I-5 they do like a double take. i love how unique our cars are, i haven't seen any TL's in this area that has a fixed up 1st gen.

You must have very rich friends! I agree that the TL is a "sleeper" ..your average joe does not know what is a TL. Its all about being unique and TL's are definitely unique vehicles!

i love my TL but i have to admit i do want something different. i'm going to get rid of mine in 2003 when my insurance goes down. it has treated me good. but there isn't much aftermarket support for it. plus, finding rims with the right offset is a pain in the @$$. also it's a 4 lug. that sucks. i'm doing what i can to mine. but i need something that has more of a aftermarket availability. i'm leaning towards a RSX Type S. but that is a year and a half down the road. i do agree about the sleeper part though. our cars are quick and smooth. but i still love the TL.

TL's rule!

Our beloved TL's will rule way beyond what we expect! Look at us, how we love our TL's!

Love them, they treat you right!

I do not know about you, they give me the stare. They give me the right of way, they respect me! All because I ride a sleek looking car.

My wife calls it "Speedy!" There you go, even the wife respects it!

Can not ask for more than that!

I dont know how I feel about my TL. One day I love it and the next day I'm bored of it and want a new car. I can't picture myself selling it though. I do get alot of compliments and alot of stares from people. Right now I'm just gonna keep it and enjoy it and see what happens.

That is true. i always get mad compliments and stares. one of the reasons is cause i'm young and people wonder how someone like me can afford something like this and they are riding around in a beater. it does make me mad sometimes with the stares though. but i just keep on drivin. i do feel 96TL though. i have the same feelin most of the time. it's mixed. but i'll deal with it. still got mad love for the TL family.

I know, not the yellow tl again

I not saying that the yellow tl is a tread mark, but in my opion if you want to mod your ride do it right. everyone is looking for the quick and easy way of doing things. thats what makes other cars look like the way thay do. if your going to do mods do it right. i pass other tls with bolt-on's all the time. I just smile to them when we pass. all of the customs i have done are customs, not bolt-on's. I'm not saying my car is the best but its my own taste put in to it........but as it seems i guess we are all classified on what, how we post, like the comment,( leave it to a newbie to post the yellow TL ) man, your car is not your life, it's a hobbie. it all comes down priorities. just be careful on how you address other people.....so again why is the morale down.
