Why would you want to market the car as having less HP than it really has?

Well... That way, paying more for the higher level 3.2 is more reasonable?

I too herd that the 2.5 had 190HP but I guess it's not true...

Not mine (I have a 3.2), just seen dynos for Vigors. They ranged from 185 to 192 hp at the flywheel.

Once and for all, Acura did it for marketing purposes, to keep Vigor sales from eating up Legend sales and also to be somewhat between the Integra and Legend in terms of power.

would you pay $24,000 for a car that has 190 hp?
how bout paying $28,000 for the same car, but now it has 200 hp?

now, what if the first car only had 176 hp. Does paying $4,000 more seem more reasonable for 24 more horsepower, rather than $4000 for only 10 more horsepower?

There you go.

(btw, i just made the numbers up. but you get the point)

Well, this increase in HP is good news for me then.

If it's 190 at the flywheel, what is it where the rubber meets the road?
