where to look online for a 2004 RL
Looking to buy a nice 2004 RL in Toronto. I've been watching Autotrader for a month and not much is showing up .....
where else should I be looking ?
I'll buy something bone stock or one thats been upgraded, as long as the miles are not too high and its clean and well maintained. I expect to pay a premium. There are LOTS of TLs for sale for all years, but I want the RL. I like the 2004 because it looks a lot of the Legend I drive now.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

I found mine locally in Texas on Craigslist. I've seen a few on e-bay but there's no telling the condition of them.
My wife wants me to get rid of my 04 RL navi.... I might be selling it soon. She see's the potential for me to dump alot of money on it and she doesn't like that.
It's an 04 with 107k miles on it. Aboslutely NOTHING wrong with it and it was maintained properly. I bought it off a lady who had it sitting for 2 years.

I really want to find an RL close to home, and I will pull the trigger as soon as I find the right car.

Patience my friend. The good car will expose itself before you know it. I waited and searched for 4 months before I found this gem. It seems that noone wants to part with them.
That says something, doesn't it.

It's a pretty rare car, there aren't many of them. The one I found was posted just the day before and I knew I had to jump on it quick with the amount of maintenance history I was receiving. I drove out the next day and left the guy a deposit to hold it.

www.craiglook.com It's also a nationwide search. I may replace my TL with an 04 RL, but Acura treats its customers poorly in regard to the tranny replacement, so I may opt for a Lexus.
Craigslist is your bet unless you know an auto wholesaler. Don't buy at a dealer. It's a ripoff. Chances are the dealer bought it at an auction and has no history. If you buy from an individual, they can tell you what kind of service has been done. These cars are too old to get a decent warranty on, so you can't lose if you buy from an individual as long as you check it out and make sure it's mechanically sound.

Thanks for all the excellent advise, and I will be following it. I will find a local car, and will be patient. I seriously considered a Lexus LS430s and drove quite a few. Nice cars for sure but it too flashy for me, and I don't want rear wheel drive.
I do hope I find one ... and will be patient because I know its the right car for me. I may be looking at the RL competitors who offer the Honda/Acura reliability plus the size and luxury of the RL, .... but thats a very small group too !
I wish the new RL looked better. I am sure its a very nice car, but I would rather have an older style RL. Its very typical for me to like older styling in most things.

I agree with you about the New RL. I'm a bigger fan of 02-04's than the new ones. I drove an 05 prior to purchasing the 02 and I feel like you'd only be getting more headaches with the bigger price tag.

More headaches as in more toys = more problems.
I remember we looked at a house once without a basement. I was pretty bummed out about it because of the lost extra space but the realtor said "no basement - no problems". I saw her point. Still went with a place with a basement though

Have not found my next car yet but I am stilll hunting ....
I have driven a few 2004 RLs and while newer than my 1994 Legend, they were not as nice. I have expanded my search to include the 2006 RL but for some unknown reason there are none for sale here. There are LOTS of 2005 RLs but I always avoid the first year of a model change.
All the electronic technology on the newer RLs is not a selling point for me, but its a nice car, and I am having difficulty finding something I really want that gives me the comfort and luxury I want that wont be too flashy/expensive.

You can use crazedlist.org to search multiple craigslist sites at once. Helpful if you are willing to drive a while to find the right car... Other than that, autotrader.com, cars.com, ebaymotors.com...

Do some research on the newer RL's in the 2nd gen section, you can find a lot of good information in there.
