100% agree. Our newer "LUXURY" cars are not meant to look that way. If they were supposed to look like that they would come like that on the showroom floor. If you like this look, buy a Caprice. What do they call it, "donk", or "box" look? Not meant for an Acura, or any other luxury car for that matter. I think that 20's look bad enough.

The only vehicles with anything larger than 20's should be trucks. And even then, they should be cut off at 22's. anything else just looks like a hotwheels car.
Oh and btw, we know that the word "ghetto" has long since lost its true meaning. And when people use in nowadays, they mean the new meaning referring to what people do with the welfare money they get for popping out like 20 kids.

I can honestly say I have absolutely nothing to add to a thread about putting 22" wheels on an RL. I might start a thread about putting 12" wheels on mine, would probably look just as rediculous.

I have 20's on my acura rl 98
I had to buy thin ass 225's / 30 for them to fit
And also had to cut 3/4 of an inch for them not to rub with the fender lip

The ideal specs would be

20s
with a high offset 40-45
225/30/20 tires
and a 7.5 wideness
anything higher you will have a headache TRUST ME !!!!!

And jus to let yall know everyone who sees it is amazed I get plenty of compliments and thumbs up. No one has told me that they dont like it. Oil changes are ez as hell now the tires stick out half of an inch, the car rides smooooooooooooth as hell.

Looks are a subjective matter. In my honest and humble opinion, that black RL looks just as bad as the one on 22s. But that's just me.

That didn't look great either, but it was better than the 22" RL. The RL needs Luxury style rims that fit well, not racer rims since it's not very fast. Not 22" truck rims that scrub and poke out. 18"-20" on a RL is what works and dosen't make it look all goofy. 22" rims would look sick on a MDX.

ok, and rather than bash you, i think you need to take it more as constructive criticism. i mean let's be real here. you need to just realize that MOST people who see you drive by are thinking "oh my god that shit looks dumb", just as they do with the cars that are even MEANT to have the big rims & be raised (donks, boxes & bubbles). it's simply a car style of which you have to accept the fact that in the eyes of more people than not - looks plain ridiculous. roll on my brotha roll on - but realize the reality straight up. believe me you are getting WAYYYYYY more people that are lookin' & sayin' "dam that shit is retarded" than you are the people that come up & give you compliments.

You know, I wouldn't doubt that people tell you the car looks cool in person....depending on where you are.
When I was in the south, people went crazy when they saw them. From asian girls to white guys in Camaros...Everyone liked watching them roll.

They're actually pretty damn impressive when seen in succession one after the other...Like to see a line of 6 or 8 of them all together is impossible to ignore. It's pretty easy to miss a line of TLs and TSXs that look pretty stock. Especially if the viewer doesn't know cars that well.

The whole purpose is to snatch views away from the surrounding area. When you look at these car for what they're supposed to be (attention grabbers) you understand that they're friggin effective at what they do.

^^^ agreed B+O. i must admit they are very good at attention grabbing & if you are an attention whore, which many many 16-25 yr. olds are along with people much older who just haven't matured yet, i mean i guess it will make you happy. & sure maybe it's cool for a few secs when you see the occasional parade of like 5 or 6 or more roll by (often in my town believe me), but to me that's about it. and i mean sure, i guess all of us trying to make our rl's look clean / cool or whatever want the attention too, but i'm looking more for the attention of people that appreciate more streamlined / clean looking automobiles, not just "whoa look at those big ass rims on that / those cars. cool ..... " - ya' feel me? main point being that you can't deny we all seek attention, just different kinds of attention i guess. & it DOES come down to each his own, meaning there's no way in hell anyone could talk me out of my rim & mod choices just like i'm sure that no one can talk this guy & all the other happy donk box & bubblers out of their 22's & bigger rims. hi everyone, i'm new here. I have an 02 RL, I bought a set of rims 19x8.5 offset +35, i don't understand much about the offset. Do you guys think it will fit my car well, i haven't lowered my car yet just let yall know that. I need some comment about the offset, please let me know thanks
